Greeks withdraw $894 million in a day: Is this beginning of a run on banks?
Wed May 16, 2012
Every country in Europe needs to ditch the Euro and go back to its own currency. They also need to withdraw from the EU. It was a bad idea from the start. This is only one reason why a world with one government is a world without hope.
Beer-swilling bride sparks controversy in New Zealand
Wed May 16, 2012
Those who criticized her need to get over themselves. Formal occasion or not, if she wants to drink a beer, why criticize? Oh, forgive me, she actually drank from the bottle. Nobody would have said "boo" if she'd poured it into a glass first. Give me a break.
US veterans to return war medals in protest
Wed May 16, 2012
Not disrespectful, but a waste of time. It's water under the bridge. Turning in the medals won't undo the damage or anything else. Move on.
Supermodel Christy Turlington Burns defends her campaign to boycott Mother's Day
Thu May 10, 2012
This boycotting Mother's Day makes absolutely no sense. It's more like punishing women for having SURVIVED childbirth, and their families for still having them around.
All aboard for private train travel
Fri May 11, 2012
Even traveling Amtrak by coach beats an airplane all hollow. You actually have room to stretch your legs, the recliner seats lie almost flat, and the fold-down table actually has room for whatever you may be working on. The seat in front of you has a bar that you can put your feet up on, too.
CIA foiled al-Qaida plot to destroy US-bound airliner
Mon May 7, 2012
Boy, did I make a hash of my last post. What I meant to say is, the existence of terror cells right here in America does not completely eliminate the danger of hidden bombs if we stick to American-made goods, but buying only American-made stuff does significantly reduce it.
CIA foiled al-Qaida plot to destroy US-bound airliner
Mon May 7, 2012
This is one more reason we need to knock it off with the "global trade" bullshirt. While the existence of terror cells right here in the States does not completely eliminate the danger, it does reduce is considerably. Buy only American-made goods ,or do without!
Wal-Mart worker wants CEO fired
Tue May 1, 2012
Maybe this is callous, but since I don't work there, I don't know what's going on "inside," and I really don't care. I only have one gripe about Wal-Mart, and it's that almost before Sam Walton was cold in his grave, they ended the "buy American" policy.
Unscreened baby leads to terminal evacuation, delays at Newark airport
Sat Apr 28, 2012
While 99.999...% of our law enforcement officers are dedicated personnel who care about the work they do, there is always the fraction of a percent who are purely on a power trip.
Pictures with body parts: Bad deeds overshadowing stories of good troops?
Wed Apr 18, 2012
If the bad news is overshadowing the good, the media have only themselves to blame. The stories of misdeeds get banner headlines and are milked for days, while those of the good our GIs do is usually buried on the back page, so to speak, and mentioned only once.
